Welcome to Reston’s most personal cooking experience — where every dish tells a story. I majored in Fine Arts (sculpture), but I’ve always had a deep interest in food. My mother was an amazing cook, and when I was little, she would often gather her friends at our home and teach them how to cook. Our house would turn into a small cooking class, filled with laughter, delicious aromas, and warm conversations. That experience naturally led me to start my own cooking classes with friends, simply because I loved sharing food. What began as casual gatherings grew over time through word of mouth, and now, I continue to teach cooking classes to this day.
I believe food is a powerful medium that connects people and brings happiness. It has a magical ability to gather family and friends around a table, creating joyful moments. It sparks laughter, opens up conversations, and even becomes a source of healing.
I wanted to play a role in helping people enjoy home-cooking in their everyday lives. No matter how wonderful a recipe is, I believe it’s important that people can recreate it with ingredients found at their local grocery stores.
Simplicity matters, but at the same time, I never want to sacrifice the visual appeal of a dish. And of course, the flavor must always be guaranteed.
There’s a Korean saying: “A rice cake that looks good tastes good too.”
That’s the motto of my cooking class — creating dishes that are easy to make, visually beautiful, and delicious.
I also love to travel. A few times a year, I visit different countries and explore their culinary cultures.
Whenever I taste a dish that inspires me in Italy, France, Spain, Tokyo, Portugal, Vietnam, or Korea, I immediately think of my cooking class members.
I make a mental note of the flavors and presentation so I can recreate those dishes for them later. It’s my way of sharing the joy and ambiance of that experience, so they too can bring those flavors to their family and friends, creating their own happy moments.
In addition to teaching, I also offer home-style catering services for intimate gatherings, private events, and pop-up dinners. My catering approach reflects the same values as my cooking classes — seasonal ingredients, visually beautiful plating, and flavors that feel both comforting and refined. Whether it’s a small celebration or a cozy dinner party, I love crafting menus that tell a story and bring warmth to the table. Each dish is prepared with care, designed to spark conversation and create lasting memories.
Developing new recipes always fills me with excitement and energy.
Discovering and perfecting flavors is a joyful process, and I want to share that joy visually and through taste.
When I see the smiles and satisfaction from the people who enjoy my food, their happiness comes back to me, making the experience even more. rewarding.
When food is beautifully plated, stories begin to pour out.
As people taste the dishes, conversations start to flow naturally.
A dining table filled with lively chats and laughter becomes a moment of healing in this busy and tiring world.
If I can create such happy moments for myself, my family, and my friends through cooking, there’s nothing more fulfilling than that.
